Helford River Scout Group

Beavers now number 20 and have action packed meetings living up to their motto of “Fun and Friends”. Recently they have been made special passports and have visited different countries learning about foods and custom. They have eaten with chopsticks, made crocodiles, learnt some words of French and played lots of new games.

Cubs have been working towards the Global and Fitness Challenge badges as well as aiming to gain their Chefs badge. They have visited 4th Falmouth, hiked through woods in the dark, made pancakes and taken part in imitative tests.

Sea scouts are the newest section of this group joining the Cubs and Beavers. Constantine Scouts have joined them swelling the numbers and bringing much needed expertise
Having only taken part in three meetings, the newly formed Sea scouts won the District Five a Side match. Well done to them! 14 achieved the Fire Safety award by attending a course at Falmouth Fire Station. Now they are working on boats and nautical skills ready for the summer months when most of the meeting will take place on or near the river.
