At the public meeting held on 29th June, 7 residents of the Parish agreed to serve on a committee to kick-start the Mawnan Parish Plan.

The Plan is a blue print for the future, covering, if possible, ALL ASPECTS of interest and concern to the residents. It is the views of the residents that are all important to the creation of this plan - the parish Council is acting to assist and to be the channel for Goverment funding for the work.

The first need is to devise a questionnaire which will be sent to all properties in the Parish, hopefully by September. A 100% response will be asked for and results will form the basis of the plan.

Why bother? Well, if any village group is seeking funding for a particular project and needs to demonstrate a "need", if it's in the Plan, there's the proof.

What Is a Parish Plan?
The Plan covers anything that is relevant to the people who live and work in the parish. It is a blueprint for the village, identifying specific needs and recommending ways of meeting those needs. All aspects of community life can be included; places for children to play, facilities for the elderly, transport, tourism, education for all, affordable housing and land use.

What is Involved in Developing the Plan?
A village group including members from the Parish Council will meet on a regular basis to define areas of concern, consult with the parish and pull together the results. The Parish Plan is a plan for the future drawn up after a lengthy consultation with as many different village groups as possible.

The results of the survey will be published shortly along with plans to implement suggestions made
