Beaches and Coves
Within
the Parish there are two main beaches that you can drive to,
park and spend some time. Other smaller beaches and coves you
will come across if you walk the coastal footpath or approach from
a listed footpath.
When using beaches, please take care and observe sensible safety precautions.

Access
& parking: Take the road to Budock Vean
and Porth Navas out of the village of Mawnan Smith, with the Red
Lion on the left hand side. After passing the entrances to Glendurgan
& Trebah Gardens, fork
left towards Helford Passage (signed to "The Ferry Boat Inn").
Go past Bar Road (on the right) and you will find a signed "Pay and
Display" carpark (April - September £1 for all day) half way
down the hill (no parking at the beachside). There is then a steep walk
and steps at the side of the pub, or just follow the road (not quite as
steep) to the small beach. From the pub, if you follow the road past Hele
House you will come to Bar Beach - there is a footpath from Bar Beach
onto Bar Road (the next road up from the car park)

Access & parking: Take the road to Budock Vean and Porth Navas
out of the village of Mawnan Smith, with the Red
Lion on the left hand side. After leaving the village you will come
to a cross roads (BEFORE the entrances to Glendurgan & Trebah Gardens).
Turn LEFT and you will find a small car park on the right hand side opposite
Bosloe
House (NO parking in the hamlet of Durgan). Follow the road or the footpath
on the right to Durgan. Access also from the coastal footpath.

Access & parking: Take the road to Budock Vean and Porth Navas
out of the village of Mawnan Smith, with the Red
Lion on the left hand side. After leaving the village you will come
to a cross roads (BEFORE the entrances to Glendurgan
& Trebah Gardens).
Turn LEFT and you will find a small car park on the right hand side opposite
Bosloe House. Follow the road or the footpath on the right and the turn
145 degrees left down a narrow steep path to Grebe Beech. Access also from
the coastal footpath.

the side of Carwinion Gardens,
on the road between Mawnan Smith and Maenporth). Park in Carwinion Playing
Field Car Park. Access also from the coastal footpath.

parking: On the narrow road between the Boslowick area of Falmouth
and Mawnan Smith. There is fee-paying parking on the beach. Access

Life's a Beach at Maenporth
For
a relaxing day, Maenporth Beach is ideal. Beautiful scenery and shallow
waters make it a perfect beach for all to enjoy. Explore the rock pools
and, at low water, the Ben Asdale, the famous shipwreck of Maenporth, can
be seen.
Start your coastal path walk to the Helford from hereand really get in touch
with nature. If you choose to stay on the beach and feel energetic, why
not try diving, sailing or surf riding - some of the facilities available.

Licenced restaurant - The Cove.
Maenporth
Beach cafe is open 9.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m. ish, serving hot and cold snacks,
drinks, ice cream etc.
Toilet facilities, including for the disabled
Car parking (small charge but you get a free cup of tea!), boat launching
and surf rescue at weekends
