By Sea
For visiting yachtsmen, the most useful point of reference
is the entrance to the Helford River.
The "waypoint" normally used for this is one mile east of the Helford
entrance. This is 50º.05'.70 North and
05º.04'.00 West.
As a matter of interest, the prominent church tower visible through the
trees on the north side of the entrance is St. Maunanus, the old parish
church of Mawnan, which was a traditional landmark for sailors in the
days before satellite navigation.
