Playing Fields
There are two
playing fields within the boundaries of the Parish :-
The Carwinion Playing Field
- cricket, football, Mawnan Community Association
Bar & Function Room.
The playing field is opposite Carwinion House, Carwinion Road
and has a soccer pitch and cricket pitch. It also boasts
a clubhouse run by the Mawnan Community Association.
The trustees are the serving Parish Councillors,
albeit acting independently.
The current Chairman is Dr Dennis Gartside,

Acknowledgment of Donations 2006
The Trust is most grateful for the following kind donations
£50 - Carwinion Gardens - for car parking
£500 - Budock Vean Golf Club - donation from the Club Captain's charity fund.This donation has helped to refurbish one wrought iron ended slatted bench
£200 - Mawnan Fun Run Committee
The trustees are anxious to promote the use of this village assett, and are currently considering improvements

The infant swings have now been removed - there was rot in the bottom of the supports. New swings are to be installed in W/C 15th October.
Please
note that the "older" equipment in the Playing Field - the swings
and
climbing castle will be out of use for a few weeks pending a Health &
Safety Inspection
Update 1st April 2007
The infants swing did not pass the examination - there was rot in two
of the legs. Regrettably this swing has had to be dismantled. The Trust
have now made an application for funding of up to £10,000 to replace
both the swings.

The
trustees are the serving Parish Councellors,

Both rely heavily on grants from the Parish Council for
the
upkeep of the facilities.
Junior Playing Field Trust.
Grant
applications for £50,000+ were made to install new play equipment,
a "safe" surface, and new fencing to keep dogs out of the area.
Grants submitted in October 2002. The application has been rejected although
we are still hoping to benefit from a few minor grants which will be used
to install more equipment.
At a meeting held on 22nd April 2003, it was agreed that, with limited funding
available, we would
The idea was raised that we hold some form of fund raising event within the community - this will be discussed further.
Update 17th September 2003
Phases
1 & 2 of the work are now completed with the repair to the climbing house,
installation of three swings, an aerial slide, a wobble board, a spinning
log, all with their associated safety surfaces, and a
basketball goal.
2 Picnic benches have been installed, and gates fitted to keep the field secure.

Yet more work is planned, with improvements to the boundary wall and adjoining footpath, and the installation of a sensory garden.

New scramble net installed
Funding has been obtained and yet more equipment has been installed (March 2006). These include a new roundabout, tyre ring and a bouncy ride for the little ones.
The footpath adjacent to the field has been resurfaced
