The Parish of Mawnan includes the village of Mawnan Smith and the hamlets of
Penwarne, Helford Passage, Carlidnack, Bareppa, & Durgan.

It is situated approximately 3 miles south of the port of Falmouth on the south coast of Cornwall,
and is bounded on one side by the beautiful Helford River.

You can find out all about the parish, its origins, plans, amenities (beaches, footpaths, gardens, playing fields),
facilities, hotels, restaurants and services by clicking on the menu at the left hand side of the page.

The aim of the site is to answer everything a resident or visitor may want to know about the Parish.

A service for Mawnan residents
If you are a sole trader/craftsman or offer some other service to the village, you are invited to
add your name to the directory (NO CHARGE!).
Also, you can advertise your sales/wants for free!
This site is updated three or four times EVERY WEEK so you can easily add/change details.

Painting from Nature


Port Navas continues to be a venue for botanical art with the start on January 13th of a new course in the quaint village hall. Courses have run for eight years here and beginners and experienced painters alike have gained pleasure from developing their skills in this achievable art form. The tutor is professional artist Susan Hillier.
